I write about the things that hold my attention: history, religion, language, and the attempt to live a little more simply in a world drenched in modernity.

I tend to look at the past with a certain fondness. Call it rose‑tinted if you like; I prefer to think of it as trying to learn from what was good, and carrying it forward into the present.
